It was magical to return to Akub; the most divine restaurant in Notting Hill serving tempting Palestinian dishes. I was blown away by the non-alcoholic cocktails.. I had the Tamarind Fizz - an unusual combination of tamarind, lime juice, orange blossom and ginger ale with a bay leaf... just have to try it at home.

| Zahra Fritters, Aubergine Fatteh and arabic bread |
The zahra fritters was a morerish bite of cauliflower accompanied by coriander tahinia and marinated sumac onions...
aubergine fatteh
I had to go with the aubergine fatteh; a beautiful dish of gently fried aubergines in a spiced tomato sauce topped with shredded focaccia and garlicky yoghurt.
| Mousabaha |
And finally the mousabaha... chickpeas (my absolute favourite) with a tahinia sauce, lemon, parsley and almonds... I had to roll out of the restaurant so replete; remembering the myriad of flavours... I just need to go back - soon!
